CadaDia translates from Spanish to “every day” or “day by day.” It was named with a simple intention: to offer an exceptional, delicious cigar that can be enjoyed daily without hesitation.

Classification-wise, CadaDia is a machine-made, short-filler cigar. Naturally, compared to a premium long-filler cigar, the construction exhibits a rugged, unpolished character. Development Story

In February 2025, I (Kataoka, Owner of CubanCigar.jp) was in Estelí, Nicaragua, working on blend development for a new brand—a project ongoing since July 2023. During this stay, progress had hit a wall. Inside Gerardo’s cigar factory, we continuously analyzed leaf profiles, crafted blends, and conducted daily tastings, yet fell short of surpassing our target profile.

With time running out and frustration setting in, a close friend of Gerardo—a Cuban national and owner of another cigar factory—dropped by for an informal visit. He carried samples of a machine-made short-filler cigar and casually asked, “Why not try selling these in Japan?” A quick glance revealed a rough, ruggedly rolled cigar—unmistakably machine-made.

That evening at Gerardo’s residence, with zero expectations, Gerardo and I lit them up. What followed was nothing short of miraculous. Striking in direct contrast to its unrefined appearance, the smoke delivered exceptional flavor and aroma. The off-notes I typically dislike in non-Cuban cigars—harshness, bitterness, artificial sweetness, grassy tones, or cheap soapy aromas—were entirely absent. It was natural, sweet, and nutty. The sheer unpredictability of its quality had Gerardo and me bursting into laughter.

About a year later, a new batch of samples arrived in Japan. Because tobacco crops operate on annual cycles, securing identical leaves and reproducing an exact blend a year later is notoriously difficult. However, this second batch proved to be a flawless match. It was a moment of genuine relief; while I would never market an inexpensive cigar that lacks flavor, we now had the green light for a cigar that was both remarkably delicious and highly affordable.

Twenty-four years ago, when I first fell in love with Cuban cigars at the age of 30, smoking Cubans every single day was financially impractical. I fondly recall spending my days searching for a cheap yet delicious daily cigar. Yet reality was uncompromising, and my search eventually led me to a simple conclusion: “When it comes to cigars, flavor reflects price.”

CadaDia is the cigar I wish I could have handed to my 30-year-old self. And I am confident it will serve as the ultimate daily cigar for today’s younger enthusiasts discovering this world. Your search for an affordable, high-quality daily cigar ends here. Mission accomplished.

Solving the Short-Filler Dilemma

When a short-filler cigar is flat-cut, stray tobacco bits inevitably end up in your mouth, disrupting the smoking experience. On a fine cigar, this becomes even more frustrating.

To solve this, each CadaDia comes pre-pierced at the head, eliminating the need for a cutter. Since a flat cut causes loose bits, simply light it as is and enjoy a seamless, stress-free smoke.
