The Heritage of Pinar del Río

In 1965, Gerardo Ramos was born in Pinar del Río, Cuba—a land celebrated as the crown jewel of the cigar world. The Ramos family’s legacy dates back to 1920, beginning with tobacco cultivation at Finca La Envidia, a revered estate in the heart of Vuelta Abajo.

His legendary father, Arsenio Ramos, was immersed in the traditional techniques and philosophy of cigar making from the age of seven. He later rose to become a master icon in the industry, guiding manufacturing across the world’s most acclaimed terroirs—including Colombia, Ecuador, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Having served for two decades as an advisor to major suppliers catering to Western markets, he was truly a luminous star of the cigar realm.

The Culmination of Intellect and Craftsmanship

Gerardo proved to be not only a master artisan, but a intellect of rare talent. Following higher education in Russia, he earned his Master’s degree in the Netherlands and was subsequently awarded a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Hydrogeology in Cuba. Through this academic journey, he cultivated a unique intellect—understanding the true essence of soil and water, the “terroir,” from a scientific and multifaceted perspective.

In 2010, Gerardo relocated to Estelí, Nicaragua—the modern sacred land of premium cigars. After serving for six years as head of production for one of the region’s premier factories, he established his own factory in 2016, dedicated exclusively to handcrafting ultra-premium cigars to realize his uncompromised vision.

For nearly a decade until Arsenio’s passing, father and son stood side by side, striving for the absolute zenith of cigar crafting. From his great father, Gerardo inherited all the wisdom and passion for tobacco. The convergence of noble lineage, outstanding scientific insight, and a lifelong devotion has culminated in the creation of this pinnacle cigar.
